Volunteers are the backbone of the South Sudan Red Cross and volunteerism is open to everyone regardless of tribe, race, nationality, religious or political affiliation.

Membership and volunteering Volunteers are the backbone of the South Sudan Red Cross (SSRC). The South Sudan Red Cross has a network of 18,000 volunteers and 2700 members who assist in implementing activities at the headquarters, Branches, and Units.

Volunteerism and Membership is open to everyone regardless of race, colour, sex, tribe, clan, gender, class, religion, political inclination, or Nationality. Volunteers’ information.

Volunteers are categorized into : Emergency Action Teams, National Disaster Response, Volunteer leaderships, Handpump mechanics, Water Health and Sanitation awareness, Health awareness, First Aiding, Community mobilization, Technical office work (Organizational Development), Psycho-social First Aid.

How to become a volunteer: Walk to any branch near your location and declare your interest to join the SSRC as a volunteer and the branch will register you for free.

Membership information. Membership categories: Life membership, Ordinary membership, Corporate Membership, Honorary Membership, Youth Membership.

Youth Membership: Registered volunteers can become youth members through registration as members.

To become a youth member, one must pay a fee renewal every year. Each branch has a Branch Youth Committee consisting of 5 elected youth members. At the Headquarters, there is a National Youth Council consisting of 7 elected youth members.

How to become a member with the SSRC: Walk to any SSRC branch near you and declare the interest to be a member. hen choose the type of membership category. The branch staff will advise on the fee to be paid according to each category describe in the Membership Policy.
